Good pads for cool mornings or for high speed stops on hot days
We purchased these pads to replace worn-out PBR ULT (same as Axxis, 109.04350, Ultimate Brake Pads pads. The Axxis/PBR pads long have been a favorite choice for high performance street use of some of the most knowledgable brake gurus in North America: Tim Kelsch of StopTech, Dave Zeckhausen of Zeckhausen Racing, and Rob Levinson of UUC Motorwerks; but Axxis and PBR appear to be curtailing their sale of ULTs in North America these days and the brake gurus have mostly moved on to StopTech Street Performance pads as the successor/replacement to ULTs, so we did, too.
We chose the ULTs years ago to replace OEM ceramic pads because we live high on a hill, in a climate that is rainy and cool several months of the year (morning temperatures often in the mid- to high 30s F. in mid-winter), and the OEM ceramic compound pads, which were excellent when warmed up, took a few minutes to reach operating temperature...
